Junior club tournament 2009

The Junior club tournament took place on Saturday 27th June 2009. Under 18 boys winner was Hector de Courcy-Wheeler, beating Ben Jardine in a very close match that was decided on a tie-break. The under 18 girls produced a new winner in Sheena MacAuley, who defeated Olivia Loy in the final. Both under 14 categories had new winners in Baille Dillon-Burns, in the boys and Eimear Downey in the girls equivalent.

Banbridge teams performed well in Belfast and district leagues with the under 14 boys A team coming runners-up in their league and reaching the semi-final stages of the knockout cup (losing 2-4 to the eventual winners Ward Park). The under 14 boys B team went a stage further winning their league and got to the quarter-final stage of the knockout cup. Our under 18 girls B team lost out on runners-up spot by a single point. In total the club was represented by eight league teams.

Individual attention goes to Emma McNickle who won the plate competition in Newry/Warrenpoint, with younger sister Ruth making the final of the main event.

Banbridge A Team Win Winter League

The A team won the division 3 winter league on Wednesday night closely followed by Malone. A good start to 2008!

The A team won a hard fought match at home against Bangor. The final result was 3-1.
